Levee on the Lake takes place on the unceded ancestral lands of the Mi’kmaq people
LEVEE ON THE LAKE RETURNS TO SILVER LAKE Aug 17 - 20, 2023 with our title sponsor CN.
A festival that was started in response to the pandemic because... the show must row on.
When the live music industry was decimated in 2020 due to the global pandemic, we created Levee on the Lake to employ as many cultural workers as possible. We raised $101,000 in 2.5 months from sponsors and government alike and created a paddle up stage in rural Sackville, NB. With our partners on staging, lights and sound production along with countless volunteers; we became one of the only stages to open that summer in The Maritimes, let alone Canada.
We believed very strongly that live music is important and indeed possible during COVID 19. We still do. So here we "row" again.
We adapted to support live stages, artists and audiences here in Sackville, New Brunswick but now we can throw the life jackets off and welcome everyone! We will have one free 5 hour LAKE SIDE LEVEE Saturday, a free CATTAIL CEILDH Sunday afternoon and free SILVER LAKE SESSIONS evening concert, as well as 4 ticketed evenings from August 17, 18, 19 in historic Middle Sackville. We are also offering three days of FREE cultural workshops, so families can participate in the arts and learn some of our amazing traditional music.
We will continue to build the finer details of the event over the next few months, such as parking, food vendors, more activities etc so check in here often!
Levee on the Lake is about the spirt of music and resilience in our community. We are proud to combine with Triathlon NB who will have their race in the morning leading into our MainStage FREE LAKE SIDE LEVEE at 12:30. We encourage people to cycle, hike, walk or paddle to our events and keep Sackville beautiful and green.
See you in August because THE SHOW MUST ROW ON!
